(Scroll down for video) A man was devastated when a Transportation Security Agency (TSA) agent spilled his mother’s ashes all over the belongings of his suitcase, according to court documents filed in Ohio.

The incident unfolded when the man of Cleveland, packed an urn with the cremated remains of his mother and went to Puerto Rico to spread her ashes.

When he arrived, the man unzipped his bag and discovered a TSA inspection notice inside his suitcase. He also saw that his mother’s ashes was poured all over the contents of his suitcase.

When Shannon Thomas returned to Cleveland, he immediately sued the TSA and the TSA agents who handled his suitcase. Thomas said that his suitcase contained the very heavy and sturdy urn with a tightly screwed cap on top.

He flew from Cleveland to Washington D.C., and from there, he took a connecting flight to San Juan. He planned to spread the remains of his mother in the Caribbean Sea, as she requested before her death.

“No person who spoke on behalf of the United States or the TSA, has ever issued an apology, explanation or notification about the incident,” Thomas told the court.
