A 13-year-old boy is dead after his father’s goat attempted to escape.

The family bought the goat to celebrate the Muslim holiday Eid al-Adha, or the Feast of the Sacrifice.

13-year-old Heval Yildirim was just at the wrong place when the goat jumped off the building.

The goat fell 6 floors onto the teen’s head, killing him.

The boy’s father, identified only as Mehmet of Turkey, said that he bought the goat to celebrate the Feast of Sacrifice, but had no room to keep the animal in their apartment, so he took it to the roof.

In an effort to escape, the goat jumped over a small fence, jumped off the roof and fell 6 stories, crashing onto Yildirim as he was playing with friends.

The boy was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital. “I’m devastated, what can I say?” The broken hearted father said.

Prosecutors called it an unfortunate accident and said that this incident could be the first of its kind in the world. Authorities are still investigating the circumstances of the incident.

The Feast of Sacrifice is celebrated by Muslims in honor of Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son, Ishmael. He sacrificed an animal instead.

The animal is usually cut into three parts – one third goes to the family, one third is given to friends and the rest is handed to the poor.
