(Scroll down for video) Just hours after tying the knot, a couple’s marriage ended in tragedy.
The man of Ohio, was killed on his wedding day just hours after exchanging vows when a truck hit him.
Ohio State Highway Patrol said that 27-year-old Andy Bloomfield and a friend were killed on Sunday in Wyandot County, when the driver of the truck lost control.
Bloomfield married 37-year-old Ruth Driskill, just hours before the accident, which occurred around 4:00 p.m.
The bride was taken to the St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima, and is said to be in critical condition. Mr. Bloomfield was taken by medical helicopter to the same hospital where he died.
26-year-old Elizabeth Shelton, a close friend of the groom, was in the car and was declared dead at the scene.
According to Wyandot County Sheriff Michael Hetzel, the initial investigation showed that the driver, Timothy Tebbe, was traveling along a road when he lost control of the pickup truck.
The Dodge pickup went out of control and crashed into an embankment before hitting a utility pole and rolling over a few times.
Tebbe was also listed in critical condition.
