Prison officials decorated an inmate’s cell in order for him to feel comfortable on his wedding night, a spokesperson for a prison in Saudi Arabia said.
The prison, which is located in Buraydah, was decorated for the wedding of the 30-year-old prisoner.
“To celebrate the event, prison managers used proper decoration to set the right mood for the night,” Saleh al-Korzaii, an official of the prison, said.
Al-Korzaii also said that prisoners are sometimes allowed to leave prison to attend a wedding ceremony without restrictions, depending on the crime they committed.
Prisons are keen to ensure the health, safety and comfort of each inmate. Officials however, did not say how long the bride was allowed to stay with her new husband in the cell.
