A woman was ordered to leave Denmark, after her husband accepted $600 in government assistance to help pay for her dentist.
The incident began when 27-year-old Troels Jeppesen of Ballerup, took 3,471 kroner ($1 = 5.83 kroner) in financial assistance from the Ballerup Council last year, to help pay for the dentist bill at a time when he was unemployed.
Now, the woman of China, was ordered to leave the country.
According to the law, a spouse cannot accept any government assistance within three years of asking for residency.
The money received for the dentist was therefore sufficient grounds for Immigration Services to reject the application for Meng Li.
Meng has received notice that she must leave Denmark before Tuesday. Jeppesen and Li plan to appeal the decision.
