(Scroll down for video) A woman was not happy when her husband, who was presumed dead for 24 years, returned and sued her for his pension, according to court documents in New York.
The incident began when Winston Bright was reported missing by his wife Leslie, in October 1990.
At first, Leslie spent her days crying. After 10 years passed, she lost hope and she asked a court to declare her husband legally dead.
She collected his pension from Verizon, in order to be able to care for her three young children. One day, Winston showed up at her door.
“All he talked about was his money,” Leslie said. The husband filed a petition to recover his pension that his wife used for the children.
Winston was teaching in San Diego, California, under a new identity, Kwame Seku. The man told the court that he had no idea how he ended up in California, and he did not know how to get back home.
Sekou said that he suffered from amnesia.
