(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested on charges of murder after allegedly admitting to throwing his baby around and killing him, police in Washington said.

Vancouver Police said that David Redmond told investigators that he regularly abused his 1-month-old son Everett, ever since he was born.

Redmond, who lives with his wife and a roommate on Todd Road, called police around 3:00 a.m., to report that his son had stopped breathing.

When an ambulance arrived, the wife of Redmond, was performing CPR on the child.

Redmond told officers that he had slept with Everett, and when he woke up, the baby was wedged between the couch and a chair.

He also told officers that he may have rolled over Everett, in his sleep. The baby was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he was put on life support.

After doctors failed to detect any brain activity, the child was taken off life support and was declared dead. Redmond was arrested the next day, after admitting to throwing his son across the room in a fit of rage.

“I threw him pretty hard. I was very upset,” Redmond said. Since his son was born, Redmond assaulted him on average of two or three times a week.

Redmond was charged with first-degree murder, and was being held on $750,000 bail.
