Police officer slaps man for urinating at ATM outside bank

A man sustained a serious injury to the face after urinating at an ATM outside a bank, police in Nigeria said.

Ogun State Police said that 25-year-old Ogidan Bolaji, was allegedly beaten with a gun by police officer Kayode Ojo.

Bolaji was transported to a nearby hospital after suffering a deep cut on his face. The incident unfolded when Bolaji approached the ATM with his car to make a cash withdrawal after being short on cash.

A security guard however, told Bolaji that the ATM is not working and he should come back later. Bolaji went back to his car and decided to urinate on the street.

That is when Ojo slapped him in the face. When Bolaji asked what he had done wrong, Ojo pointed his gun at him. Bolaji began to run and Ojo chased after him.

When the officer caught up with Bolaji, he hit him in the face with his gun, causing the deep cut. Bolaji filed a complaint at the Sango Police Station.

However, he was told settle the matter with the police officer. The police officer claims that Bolaji and his friend were drunk and urinating on the street.
