(Scroll down for video) An airplane pilot, who is a married man and father of a 10-year-old son, died after his parachute failed to open.
The jet pilot has died while flying in Taiwan, following a terrifying mid-air crash during an exercise training between three AIDC AT-3 jets.
37-year-old Lieutenant Colonel Chang Bei-yuan was the pilot on the plane, which lost its engine after another jet hit it.
The pilot was ejected from the damaged aircraft. However, he was unable to deploy his parachute before hitting the ground. Bei-yuan died on impact.
The shocking incident, which is being investigated, was recorded by bystanders who uploaded videos of different angles to YouTube.
All three jets belong to the Republic of China Air Force Academy in Kaohsiung, and were undergoing flight training when the incident happened.
