(Scroll down for video) A man decided to get a job despite being a millionaire.

46-year-old Zhai Yongzhong is working as a sanitation worker for about $390 a month.

Yongzhong is a resident in the capital of Guizhou in the Guiyang Province. He gets up at 6:30 a.m. every day and drives his BMW to the sanitation station for work, which involves collecting garbage from trash cans.

Although his salary is not enough to cover his expenses, Yongzhong does not mind as he does not want to retire.

Yongzhong was not always rich. In 2012, the man who used to be a farmer, became rich when the government bought his land during the process of urbanization in the country.

Yongzhong received 400,000 yuan (about $65,000) in compensation for the land. He was also given four houses.
With his farm gone, Yongzhong had to find work.

“For people who don’t have an education, like me, it is not easy to find a job,” Yongzhong said.

Yongzhong is working as a sanitation worker and he is satisfied with his work. “My work helps me stay in shape and I make money at the same time. I feel very fulfilled,” Yongzhong said.

According to the human resources and social security district office, more than 42,700 farmers have been compensated for land acquisitions. However, not many people build wealth.

Many people spend the money on gambling or drug use. Others choose to live lavish lifestyles.

Jiang Guolin, the head of the district’s sanitation station, said that they employ about 980 workers, half of them are local farmers. Some of these workers are rich.

Yu Youzhen, 54, is another example. She also became rich after being compensated for her land. She is worth 10 million yuan ($1.6 million), but she lives a simple lifestyle and works at the sanitation department. Below is a video of Youzhen at work.
