(Scroll down for video) In a shocking case of misusing his power, a Highway Patrol officer admitted to stealing nude photos of women.
Officer Sean Harrington, 35, of California, admitted to sharing the photos with his colleagues at the Dublin Police Department.
Investigators said that Harrington admitted to stealing photos from the cell phones of women he arrested for drunk driving, and sending the photos to his colleagues.
However, he insisted that it was a “game,” which he learned while working at a police department in Los Angeles.
Harrington, who has been working for the California Highway Patrol for the past five years, has been assigned to administrative duties pending the outcome of the investigation.
An investigation began when a 23-year-old woman who was arrested for driving while intoxicated, discovered that her nude photos had been sent from her phone to an unknown number.
The drunk driving charges against the woman has been dismissed in light of the investigation against Harrington who arrested her.
An investigator with the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office said that the officer’s behavior amounts to felony computer theft.
