(Scroll down for video) A man was desperate to save a parrot after he agreed to care for the animal.

50-year-old Kenny Corley of Florida, was caring for his roommate’s pet parrot named Chuckles, for the past three months.

Chuckles has grown quite fond of the 50-year-old man and it followed him everywhere.

When Corley walked outside, the bird followed him and flew away. It landed on the top of a 30-foot tall tree. Corley went right after the bird.

While he was climbing the tree, the parrot asked “what are you doing? What are you doing?” Corley said. “I said ‘I’m coming for you, what do you think I’m doing.’”

Corley suddenly fell more than 20 feet and was saved as he got stuck on a tree branch. “I was more worried about the bird than me,” Corley said.

Before passing out, Corley was able to call 911 for help. It took over an hour for firefighters to rescue him using a harness.

Luckily, firefighters were able to rescue the parrot as well.
