A man was shot in the face after a young boy took his gun.
20-year-old Patrick Sanders of Texas, was shot in the face while he was trying to take away a loaded gun from the three-year-old boy.
Sanders had fallen asleep on the couch in his Houston home when the gun fell out of his pocket and onto the floor.
As the child took the gun, Sanders woke up and tried to grab the gun away from him, but as he did so, he was shot in the face.
Investigators said that it is unclear whether the boy had his finger on the trigger or if Sanders pulled the trigger as he tried to wrestle the gun away from him.
They are classifying the incident as accidental, and the investigation is still ongoing.
Sanders was taken to the Ben Taub General Hospital where he remained in critical condition. The child was unharmed.
