Woman bites off neighbor’s ear because she cut in line to take water from river

A woman was arrested on charges of assault after allegedly biting off her neighbor’s ear because she cut in line at a river, police in Nigeria said.

Lagos State Police said that 25-year-old Shalewa Akinnibo, who lives on the 100 block of Remilekun Street, was arrested on Tuesday , after biting off the ear of Bolajoko Yekeen.

According to the police investigation, the fight began when Yekeen and Akinnibo, arrived at the river to get some water.

Akinnibo told Yekeen not to take water because she arrived first.

After Yekeen refused to move away, Akinnibo grabbed the victim’s pale and threw it on the ground. The fight escalated, and during the struggle, Akinnibo bit off Yekeen’s right ear.

Yekeen was transported to a local hospital, where doctors were unable to reattach her ear.

Akinnibo pleaded not guilty to the charges. If convicted, Akinnibo faces up to seven years in prison. Akinnibo was booked into jail, and her bail was set at N500,000 ($3,020).
