Stephen Maiorino, an officer with the Boynton Beach Police, was accused of forcing a woman to have sex with him at gunpoint.
Police said that the 35-year-old officer gave the 20-year-old a ride before he raped her while holding a gun and threatening to arrest or kill her.
The nightmare began around 6:30 p.m., when police stopped a car and arrested the driver for DUI. The young woman, who was a passenger in the car, was left
Maiorino, who was on duty, responded to the scene and offered to take her to the police headquarters until a family member would be able to pick her up.
However, once they arrived at the station, Maiorino demanded that the woman perform oral sex on him. He threatened that if she didn’t, she would be arrested for DUI as well.
Maiorino then drove away from the police station, took her out of the car and forced her to undress. He pushed her onto the hood of the patrol car and sexually assaulted her, police said.
The officer held her down with his right hand and held the gun in his left hand, police said.
Later, while she was getting dressed, he allegedly threatened to kill her and her family if she told anyone what happened, police said.
The woman filed a complaint with police. The woman’s DNA was found on his underwear. Officers went to the scene of the incident and found a used condom, which the officer used while raping the woman.
Maiorino turned himself in and was charged with armed sexual battery, armed kidnapping and unlawful compensation or reward for official behavior.
