A young college student died while taking a selfie at an iconic bridge in Spain, police said.
Seville Police said that the student of Poland, who came to the country as part of the at the Erasmus exchange program, died after falling 22 feet while trying to take a picture of herself in front of the Triana bridge.
The 23-year-old woman, who was identified only by her initials R.S.A., fell over a low stone wall and slammed into a concrete floor at the edge of the Guadalquivir River.
The incident unfolded in the early hours of Sunday morning. Emergency services who were called to the scene, found her in a state of cardiac arrest.
They performed CPR at the scene, and transported the woman to a hospital where her condition was described as extremely critical.
Doctors could not save her. She died of her injuries on Monday.
