Police in India, have blocked the phones of 90 lonely men after continuously calling them in order to chat with female dispatchers.
Police took the actions after receiving hundreds of calls every day, asking the women out on dates.
Some of the callers engaged in dirty talk with the female dispatchers on the emergency telephone system. Last month, more than 1,738 such calls were made.
In response, the frustrated police department has blocked the SIM cards of 90 mobile phone owners. Police have warned some of these men, but the threats did not seem to work.
Some of the banned SIM cards belonged to men who made more than six calls each day to the control room.
Police are trying to track down the men in order to charge them with indulging in obscenity, obstructing a government official on duty, intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace and criminal intimidation.
