A woman came up with an elaborate scheme to trick a man into believing he fathered a baby with her.

Charmaine Wilson, 25, of Bridgend, Wales, was obsessed Liam Griffiths, 31, and tricked him into believing that she gave birth to his baby after a drunken one-night stand.

Wilson who works as a nurse, was never pregnant. However, she used her position as a nurse to forge a birth certificate for the child, and even created a fake DNA test to prove that Griffiths was the child’s father.

Griffiths and his family accepted the child and showered him with gifts as they wanted to make up for the lost time, since they didn’t know the child for the first two years of his life.

The family also bought a car for Wilson, so that she can get to work at the Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend.

They were also in the process of building a small house on their property so that the young family could have a place to live.

This elaborate scheme, which went on for six months, was exposed when a woman who is related to the young boy, saw a photo of Griffiths with the boy on Facebook.

The woman recognized him immediately and demanded to know why Griffiths was claiming to be the father of her cousin’s son.

The woman tipped off the mother of Griffiths and Wilson was exposed. She was arrested and convicted of two counts of forgery for falsifying the birth certificate and the results of the DNA test.

She was sentenced to four months in prison. She was also given a restraining order, preventing her from contacting Liam Griffiths or his family.

Griffiths and his parents were devastated to learn that they were tricked by the woman. They all fell in love with the boy and treated him as their own.

“I am devastated and heartbroken to have lost a child who I thought was my son. I also had bonded with this child,” Griffiths said.

The mother of the young boy, said that when she gave birth to her second child, Wilson offered to help her out with her son, who does not know his biological father.

She then took the child to Griffiths so he and his family can spend time with the boy. “My son is fine. However, he keeps asking for his father, and that is absolutely heartbreaking,” the boy’s mother said.
