(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested on charges of theft after being seen on video stealing the phone of a dead woman, police in Massachusetts said.
Boston Police said that they arrested 26-year-old Josua Gonzalez on Monday, days after police released a video that shows him taking the cell phone of the woman, who was hit and killed by a train.
Gonzalez of Brockton, was charged in the Boston Municipal Court with one count of larceny. Gonzalez handed the phone over to police before being arrested.
Police said that the woman’s phone flew out of her hand and onto the platform at Downtown Crossing, as she was hit by the train.
Moments later, Gonzalez is seen picking up the phone before walking away. Gonzalez, who has no criminal record, pleaded not guilty.
If convicted of theft, Gonzalez faces up to five years in prison.
