A man who was angry with his wife for refusing to hand over a TV remote control, called the police for help, police in the United Kingdom said.

West Mercia Police said that the angry husband of Shropshire, dialed 999, saying that his wife took the TV remote from him and refuses to give it back.

“My wife will not give me back the remote,” the man told the police dispatcher. The man was warned that he could be charged for misusing the police telephone system.

The West Mercia Police Department said that another man requested police assistance because he could not find his wallet.

A third man called police to report that he just saw a vehicle with tinted windows. Almost half of the 700,000 calls to the West Mercia Police Department each year, are not for emergency assistance.
