People in Zimbabwe, are angry that the government has turned a blind eye to a cult, whose children are dying.

Arnold Muzariwetu, a cult leader of the Johanne Marange Apostolic Sect church based in Gutaurare, had 14 wives who gave birth to 101 children, but only 25 children survived.

The other 76 died in infancy and early childhood. Their lifestyle was exposed after their leader, Muzariwetu, died. The children are dying as their religion prohibits visiting hospitals or receiving medical treatments.

The women gave birth at home with the help of other women, who are not licensed nurses.

While his children were dying, the father continued to impregnate the women without worrying about the loss of human lives.

Members of the sect said that they believe that their children, who died young, went directly to their creator in heaven, as they were without sin.

The sect members are confident that they will reunite with the pure souls of their children in the afterlife.

Some locals blame politicians for turning a blind eye to this growing problem as they do not want to anger the leaders of the sects who constitute a big voting bloc.
