(Scroll down for video) Two attorneys were arrested on charges of assault after allegedly breaking into the home of their bosses and stabbing them, police in Virginia said.
The Springfield Police Department said that a husband and wife, who are both lawyers, committed the crime after the wife was fired.
31-year-old Andrew Schmuhl and his wife, 30-year-old Alecia Schmuhl, were booked into the Fairfax County jail. They were each charged with two counts of kidnapping and two counts of malicious wounding.
The 61-year-old male victim is a managing partner of a large law firm. He recently terminated Alecia Schmuhl. His 61-year-old wife also suffered life threatening stab wounds.
The incident unfolded on Spencer Road.
According to the police investigation, Andrew Schmuhl knocked on the door, forced his way inside and attacked the homeowner.
The attack took place over several hours. One of the victims managed to activate an alarm around 9:45 p.m., which alerted the police.
The victims gave a description of the vehicle and police caught the Schmuhls.
