A man and woman were accused of robbing a number of homes with their baby in tow.
The couple of Georgia, has been arrested for theft and cruelty to a child after investigators determined that they robbed houses in Gainesville, and rather than taking a babysitter they took their baby along.
According to Hall County Sheriff Deputy Nicole Bailes, authorities found stolen property in their home while executing an arrest warrant.
Police believe that Keith Sylvester Evans, 35, and his live-in girlfriend, Johnna Lee Rayman, 26, are responsible for at least four residential burglaries in South Hall.
Evans and Rayman were taken into custody. Then authorities learned that the couple’s seven-month-old child was with them at the time of the thefts.
The baby was handed over to the Department of Families and Children. Evans and Rayman were booked into the Hall County Jail, and are being held without bail.
Evans faces four counts of burglary, child cruelty and possession of methamphetamine among other charges.
Rayman was charged with one count of burglary and one count of child cruelty. She was also wanted on an outstanding warrant.
The case remains under investigation. Police said that the two may be responsible for other robberies in the area.
