A father is devastated over the death of his teenage son, the Daily Sun reported.
Ismael Buthelezi of Protea Glen, Soweto, South Africa, said that a group of men he did not know, came to his home looking for his 19-year-old son Zakhele.
One man said that his son stole mobile phones and video games. The father took his information and said that Zakhele would contact him.
The next day, Zakhele came home and told his father that he had not stolen anything from anyone. However, his father did not believe him.
The next day, the group of men arrived in a van full of people and demanded the teen come with them to show where the stolen items were hidden.
“The men said that they would return my son safely, but later I learned that he had been beaten to death,” Buthelezi said.
“The police came to see me. They said that my son was dead,” he added. Buthelezi was taken to the morgue to identify his 19-year-old son, whose neck had been broken.
Buthelezi was allegedly beaten with boards that had nails sticking out of them in an attempt to have him confess to a crime.
Zakhele’s friend was also found dead. He was killed by the same group of thugs over the stolen items.
Soweto police spokesperson Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela confirmed that eight suspects were arrested for the deaths of Zakhele and his friend, and are facing murder charges.
