A hunter suffered gunshot wounds after his colleague mistook him for a deer, the New York State Police said.
The incident unfolded when a man of Dutchess County went hunting in Stormville.
The hunter killed a deer and was taking it to his truck. However, his colleague, saw the deer moving and thought that it was alive.
He fired several shots, which hit the first hunter in the hand and behind. The wounded hunter was taken to hospital in Danbury.
His wounds are not considered life threatening. The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. The shooter and the victim were not identified.
