(Scroll down for video) A police chief was arrested after he passed out drunk at a Taco Bell drive-thru window.
The Kentucky police chief was arrested over the weekend, after workers found him passed out drunk in the drive-thru at Taco Bell.
Tyrone Fields, who is the chief of the Whitesburg Police Department, was charged early Sunday, for driving while intoxicated.
When police arrived at the scene shortly after 1:00 a.m., they found Fields behind the wheel. Officers tried to wake the police chief, but they were unsuccessful. Fields was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
Fields, who has been with the Whitesburg Police Department since 2008 and a police chief since 2011, claims that he was taken to the hospital for a blood test and not for medical treatment.
“It’s very unfortunate, but I learned from it,” Fields said. “Just never do it again, pick up the pieces and move on,” he added.
“Unfortunately, we have to do that sometimes, that’s part of our job. You know, I regret that this has happened to a fellow officer, I do,” Hazard Police Chief Minor Allen said.
