(Scroll down for video) A family is mourning the senseless death of their teenage son.
Nathan Andrew Clark, 13, of Lewisville, North Carolina, traveled with his teammates to compete in a Soccer League tournament.
However, he never made it to the game as he was shot in the head in his hotel room by a stray bullet.
Police said that a man accidentally shot his gun in the next room on Friday, at the Comfort Suites hotel in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Police charged 42-year-old Randall Louis Vater of Knightdale, with manslaughter and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
He is being held in the Wake County jail on $1 million bond.
Vater reportedly has a long rap sheet, which includes a hit-and-run, violating a protective order, eluding arrest and communicating threats.
The 13-year-old boy was an eighth grader at Calvary Baptist Day School and a member of the Fusion soccer club, which is part of the Twin City Youth Soccer Association.
Family and friends of Clark, are mourning his loss and said that he will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace.
