An elderly woman was arrested on charges of assault after allegedly hitting her husband with several magazines during an argument over a television show, police in the United Kingdom said.
65-year-old Irene Clark was placed by police in a riot van after assaulting her husband James Clark, who was treated by paramedics for a paper cut on his forehead.
Police came to the home after a neighbor heard the couple fighting about what to watch on TV Sunday night. Four police officers responded to the couple’s home in Tayport, Fife.
According to the police investigation, Clark wanted to change the channel, but his wife lost her temper because she liked to watch Foyle’s War.
Irene Clark complained that she was treated too harshly by being put in a jail cell with drug addicts.
Irene Clark spent two nights in custody before being brought before a judge at the Dundee Sheriff Court, where she admitted to hitting her husband.
She was let go with a warning. James Clark, 52, said that he told police about being hit with a magazine, but he did not know that his wife will be arrested.
