Father arrested for beating his wife and daughter in front of friend during sleepover

(Scroll down for video) A man in Tennessee, is facing charges after beating his daughter in front of her friend during a sleepover.

The man of Soddy-Daisy, has been arrested on charges of aggravated child abuse, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

Robert Daugherty, 36, was arrested after deputies were called to his home for a domestic dispute.

Daugherty fled from his home, but officers found his 13-year-old daughter in the house of a neighbor. An officer saw a red mark on the left side of her face as well as swelling and redness around her eyebrow, according to an affidavit.

The daughter told deputies that her father hit her three times with a closed fist and head-butted her, according to the report.

Her 14-year-old friend, who was at the home at the time of incident, confirmed what the daughter said, according to deputies.

Daugherty’s wife, Tamara Daugherty, was intoxicated when police spoke to her. She also had bruises on her face.

The friend of her daughter told police that Robert Daugherty pulled his wife by the hair and threw her to the ground.

Officers contacted Child Protective Services, according to the affidavit. Daugherty later returned to the residence, where he was arrested without incident.

He has was charged with aggravated child abuse and domestic assault against his wife. He is being held in the Hamilton County Jail on $15,000 bond.

The wife and daughter were taken to a hospital as a precaution, and have since been discharged.
