A groom and his best man were arrested on charges of disorderly conduct for allegedly being involved in a brawl after the bride passed out from alcohol poisoning, police in Australia said.

Hobart Police said that the bride was hospitalized after suffering alcohol poisoning and her groom and his best man were charged with disorderly conduct after the alcohol-fueled brawl at their wedding reception on Saturday morning.

According to the police investigation, the celebration was in full swing when the bride passed out just after midnight and guests called an ambulance.

When paramedics arrived they called the police because of the drunk and rowdy crowd. Police said that when they arrived, some of the wedding guests became aggressive and threw punches.

It took six units of police to bring the situation under control. The groom and the best man were taken into custody by the police and have been charged with disorderly conduct.

Police said that the maid of honor was also questioned, but was not arrested. The bride received treatment at the Royal Hobart Hospital for alcohol poisoning.
