(Scroll down for video) Three people were arrested for destroying property.
The vandals poured paint on a truck and pelted another vehicle with eggs, causing thousands of dollars in damages.
The three allegedly defaced the vehicle parked outside a home in Huntington Beach, California, at 11:00 p.m.
13-year-old Chandler King said that he was watching television in his bedroom when he spotted the group pouring paint on his older brother’s truck.
He called his father, and he, his sister and his father jumped into a car and began chasing the vandals, who fled from the neighborhood.
The family made one mistake. While rushing out of their home, they forgot to take a cell phone and were unable to call police.
While chasing the suspects, they saw police and they were pulled over. The family learned that the vandals called police to report a car following them closely and said that they feared for their safety.
King was able to tell police what took place just a few moments before and the three vandals were arrested.
The two men and a juvenile were arrested on charges of felony vandalism and conspiracy to commit a crime.
Video surveillance from outside King’s house captured the vandals in the act.
