(Scroll down for video) A police dog was rushed to an animal hospital after it inhaled too much cocaine, police in California said.
El Cerrito Police said that its police dog is now back in service after inhaling a large amount of cocaine during the search of a vehicle last week.
The officers sought help from the canine unit during a traffic stop on Wednesday. During the search of the vehicle, Koda discovered a small amount of cocaine and inhaled some of it during the process.
Koda was taken to an emergency veterinary clinic, where the dog tested positive for the presence of a stimulant. Koda was treated, and was placed back into service the next day.
Dogs are often used to help officers in detecting drugs concealed in vehicles. One person was arrested during the search of the vehicle.
