A 19-year-old woman of Australia, told her parents that she no longer wants to live as a female.

Her parents said that they were not surprised as their daughter was always different and showed signs of having a male preference from an early age.

The couple accepted their transgender son and decided to honor him in a special way. They placed a birth announcement in their local newspaper to celebrate the “arrival” of their son.

The 19-year-old man of Brisbane, Queensland, born Elizabeth Anne, now identifies himself as Kai Bogert.

In support for their son, Yolanda Bogert and Guy Kershaw placed a birth announcement in their local paper which read:

“In 1995 we announced the arrival of Elizabeth Anne, as a daughter. He informed us that we were mistaken. Oops! Our bad. We would now like to present our wonderful son – Kai Bogert. Loving you is the easiest thing in the world.”

The proud parents could not resist the opportunity for a lighthearted joke and added: “Tidy your room.”

“I wanted to show my son 100 percent support and wanted the world to know that,” Bogert said. Kai Bogert was very happy with his parents’ acceptance of his decision.
