Teenager beats female teacher with hammer over homework

A teacher was hospitalized after being beaten by her teenage student over homework.

The 17-year-old boy of China, was arrested after beating his English teacher with a hammer because she had reprimanded him about his homework assignment.

The student of the Tonghe High School in Baoshan, Shanghai, was called to the teachers’ office around 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

The 37-year-old teacher, who was identified as Yuan, reprimanded the student for not doing his homework on time. This was apparently not the first time that the student did not hand in his homework on time.

When he was asked about his homework, the teenager pulled a hammer from his bag and start hitting his teacher.

A witness said that screams were heard coming from the teacher’s office and several teacher ran to investigate. They found the teacher laying on the floor with blood coming out of her head. The teenager was seen fleeing the scene.

Yuan suffered a series of blows to the head. She suffered eight head lacerations and a small fracture near the scalp, as well as internal bleeding.

The teenager surrendered to police on Wednesday, and he was arrested for causing intentional injuries. His parents went to the hospital to visit Yuan, and apologized for their son’s behavior.
