Police are looking to arrest the person accused of planting sewing needles in potatoes, police in Canada said.

Now, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said that there is a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for the acts.

Last week, the Prince Edward Island Potato Board offered a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for inserting sewing needles in potatoes coming from the Linkletter Farms Ltd., while other groups offered the other $50,000.

According to the police investigation, sewing needles were found in at least 10 potatoes, which originated from the farm.

To date, 800,000 pounds of potatoes were recalled since the needles were discovered. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police has sent the potatoes for a forensic review.

7 of the 10 potatoes were found by members of the public, while the 3 others have been discovered by the police.
