(Scroll down for video) Parents in Arkansas, were horrified to discover that their young daughter went missing during the night.

The family reported 11-year-old Alexis Waller missing.

Police began a frantic search for the girl. They tracked her cellphone and finally found her in a taxi.

Police said that Waller stole $10,000 from her grandmother’s sock drawer and then asked a stranger for a ride to Little Rock, where she hailed a taxi.

Waller told the driver to take her to Jacksonville, Florida, where she wanted to meet a 16-year-old boy who she met while on vacation two years earlier. Waller kept in touch with the boy online.

The driver asked the girl if she had money for the trip and she said yes. The total cost of the trip would have been $1,300.

Waller traveled about 500 miles out of 1,000 before police made contact with the driver, who told them that they were in Atlanta, Georgia.

The driver said that the girl wore heavy makeup and she looked 17 or 18 years old. The child’s parents drove 9 hours to pick her up.

Brent Waller, the girl’s father, said: “we have the rest of our life to punish her, but now, we just want to hug her and we are happy to have her back.”
