(Scroll down for video) A mother was arrested for throwing hot chocolate at her husband.
The chocolate burned her children, causing second and third-degree burns.
29-year-old Natasha Johnson was arrested and charged with domestic violence as well as two counts of endangering children.
Johnson argued with her estranged husband after she asked him to sign an affidavit, stating that he is the father of her newborn child, according to court documents.
The husband, who was in a car at the time of the discussion with two children in the back seat, refused to sign the paper.
Police said that Johnson, became angry and threw a “steaming hot” cup of hot chocolate at her husband. The hot drink hit him and their two daughters in the back seat, causing injuries.
The three were taken to Mercy West Hospital, with second and third-degree burns.
Johnson appeared in court and tried to convince a judge that the incident was an accident. “Your honor, it was an accident. He pushed me, I fell and that’s how I spilled it,” the woman said.
The judge did not accept her defense, and set her bail at $20,000.
