A father was arrested, charged and convicted of raping his daughter.

The 13-year-old girl of South Yorkshire, England, first met her father through Facebook, after not seeing him for many years.

He invited the teenager to stay with him to create a bond and make up for the lost time. After some time, her mother finally allowed her to live with her 41-year-old father.

When the girl lived with her father, he proceeded to have sex with her on a regular basis for a period of six months, the Sheffield Crown Court heard.

The teen initially slept on the couch, but when her father broke up with his girlfriend, he turned his attention to his daughter, prosecutor Timothy Capstick said.

The father encouraged his 13-year-old daughter to drink alcohol before having sex with her. She eventually found the courage to leave her father’s home and stopped living there.

The teenager, who is now 18 years old, told a social worker about the sexual abuse and was encouraged to go to the police.

During the investigation, police found texts on the man’s phone, which suggested that he had been having a sexual relationship with his daughter.

When he was arrested, he initially denied having had contact with the girl and said that another member of the family must have used his phone.

The court heard that the father was previously sentenced to 12 months in prison, but it was reduced to six months by an appeals court after having a relationship with a 15-year-old girl.

The father pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting his daughter and 14 offenses of sexual activity with a child when she was 13 years old.

The man is already on the sex offender registry and was sentenced to 6 years in prison. He was ordered to undergo sex offender prevention and was banned from working with children.
