Loss prevention officers of the New Smyrna Beach Walmart, called police after the woman stole items and then fled in a pickup truck.

However, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office did not have to wait long for a break in the case as the thief accidentally pocket dialed 911 while discussing her crime with the getaway driver.

Ashley Malcolm, 25, was heard ordering her male friend to drive away from the store, which is located at 3155 State Road 44, according to the recorded 911 call that lasted for about 18 minutes.

“Slow the [expletive] down,” Malcolm was heard telling the driver. “Just drive normal,” she added.

During the call, Malcolm was heard giving orders to her friend as she was telling him which streets to take.

When the unidentified friend yelled at her to stop screaming at him, Malcolm snapped and said: “You weren’t inside Walmart stealing they don’t have your face. They don’t have anything on you.”

She was then heard talking about chemicals she had in the truck to make methamphetamine. She told the driver that she did not want to be arrested for that, according to the 911 call.

After authorities spotted the truck, they pulled it over. The driver complied and Malcolm was arrested on charges of theft and illegal possession of chemicals.

Her bail was set at $3,000. The driver of the vehicle was not arrested.
