Police are looking to arrest a man on charges of murder after allegedly killing his brother because he lived as a woman, police in Zimbabwe said.

Bulawayo Police said that 33-year-old Samukeliso Sithole, a man who posed as a female athlete and competed in national and international games, was killed last night by his brother after an ugly dispute over his choice of dress.

Sithole was stabbed in the chest by his brother Kelvin Sibanda, and died in the Mpilo Hospital around 8:00 p.m.

According to the police investigation, doctors and all those present in the hospital room, were surprised to discover that the athlete was actually a man.

Sithole’s broken-hearted boyfriend fled from the hospital after medical staff informed him that his girlfriend was a man. Sithole’s real name is Mduduzi Sibanda.

Sithole was a successful athlete and had in recent years accumulated great wealth. Sithole competed in international events as a woman.

The athlete, who was multi-talented, competed in several different games, winning gold and silver medals. Sithole was exposed as a fraud by her teammates after he accidentally undressed in their presence.

Four athletes testified in court against Sithole. Sithole was convicted of impersonation and causing psychological harm to his teammates.

Sithole claimed that she was born with male and female private parts, but doctors denied her claims. Six witnesses, including two doctors, told the court that the athlete was not a male and female.

He received a four year prison sentence. When Sithole was released, he continued living as a woman.
