A little boy in China, was kicked out of his hometown because he was found to be carrying HIV.
Residents of a small town in Sichuan, have unanimously voted to send away the 8-year-old boy infected with HIV to ensure the safety of villagers.
The boy, identified as Kunkun, was diagnosed with HIV several years ago while receiving treatment for injuries sustained in an accident.
Doctors determined that the child had been living with HIV since birth. Kunkun is not allowed to study in school as parents fear that the child might bite other children and infect with HIV.
Last week, a special meeting was held in the village to discuss the child’s future. Town officials decided to hold a referendum asking locals to vote whether to send away the boy from the village.
Residents unanimously voted in favor of sending away the boy from the village.
