Police are looking to arrest and charge a man with rape after allegedly raping a teen girl for several hours, police in New Zealand said.

The Waitemata Child Protection Team said that the suspect carried out a vicious sex attack on a 16 year-old girl, and are encouraging anyone who may recognize the man to contact police.

On Friday around 11:00 p.m., the girl was walking near the Glen Eden shops when she was approached by the suspect. She accepted a ride from him, but he abducted her and drove to the carpark of Ken Maunder Park in New Lynn.

He then raped and beat her before driving to Victor Street, where she was again physically and sexually assaulted.

Three hours after she was first picked up, the offender left the traumatized and injured girl in the main carpark of Auckland Zoo in Western Springs.

The vehicle of the suspect was described as a light-colored Toyota Vitz, with a black interior in messy condition, and only had one tail light working

The suspect was described as an Indian, about 25 years old with dark skin, and talking with a slight accent. The man was also wearing a white netted baseball cap.

“This was a brutal and prolonged attack on a young woman, and we’re working very hard to make sure this person is brought to justice. We have a solid description of the offender and his car, and I’m urging people to think about whether they recognize either the suspect or his car,” Detective Sergeant Scott Armstrong of the Waitemata Police said.
