Now, the parents who were charged with abducting their four young children from their maternal grandmother and taking them to Mexico, pleaded to multiple felony charges and were sentenced, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

28-year-old Enrique Felix, was sentenced to 11 years in state prison by Superior Court Judge Lisa Lench, after he pleaded no contest to two counts of kidnapping and four counts of child stealing.

He also admitted that he had a prior conviction for making a criminal threat, said Deputy District Attorney Whelma Llanos with the Child Abduction Section.

Rose Chairez, 28, pleaded no contest to one count each of kidnapping and child stealing, and was sentenced to five years in state prison, which was suspended.

She was placed on formal probation for five years and ordered to stay away from her children.

The couple admitted to abducting their two sons, 8 and 6 years old, and their 1-year-old twin daughters from their maternal grandmother, who had custody of them.

The children, who were found and returned to Los Angeles, remain under the supervision of the county Department of Children Services.
