(Scroll down for video) A mother was arrested after making money by selling photos of her daughter.
The woman of Utah, faces 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor after police found partially naked pictures of her daughter.
A relative discovered the nude photographs on the child’s Nintendo DSi, and reported it to police.
Police arrested 45-year-old Starla Rae McCabe of Perry.
The police obtained a warrant to search the Nintendo DSi handheld video game system, which also includes a camera.
Officers said that they found 19 partially nude photos of the 5-year-old girl.
The pictures show the child on a couch naked from the waist down. In one of the photos, the victim’s private parts were fully exposed, according to police.
The girl told investigators that her mother took photos of her, printed them and sold them. Police learned that the mother charged $100 for each photo.
When police questioned McCabe about the pictures, she stated that she took the pictures for educational purposes, to show the child what her private parts looked like.
Officials said that when they tried to question her further about the pictures, “she invoked her right to remain silent.”
McCabe was booked into jail on 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. McCabe has three biological children and two stepdaughters.
This is not the first time that McCabe was arrested. Earlier this year, she pleaded guilty to drug possession and attempted child endangerment.
She was placed on 36 months of probation, requiring her to undergo treatment for her drug addiction. However, when police arrived at her home with the search warrant for the nude photos, they also discovered methamphetamine within easy reach of children.
