A man was arrested, charged and convicted of manslaughter after being accused of a killing a prostitute, prosecutors in the United Kingdom said.

Now, 40-year-old Robert Richard Fraser, who killed a sex worker and robbed another, has been sentenced to indefinite hospitalization under s37 of the Mental Health Act.

Fraser appeared at the Old Bailey, where he admitted the manslaughter by diminished responsibility of Maria Duque-Tunjano, at an apartment in Earls Court Square, SW5.

Fraser was also convicted of robbery in relation to an attack he carried out on other sex worker.

Detective Chief Inspector Nicola Wall of the Homicide and Major Crime Command said: “Fraser was clearly a danger to women and in particular sex workers, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the general public for the assistance they provided to the police during the four-days in which a manhunt to locate Fraser was underway.”

The court heard that Fraser contacted an escort agency and made arrangements to visit a 27-year-old woman at an address in Hermitage Street, W2.

Fraser arrived at the property about 7:30 p.m., and soon after attacked the woman, using her pajamas to tie her up and gag her. Fraser stole cash before leaving the property.

An investigation was launched, and Fraser was later identified as a suspect by DNA evidence he left at the scene. The body of Duque-Tunjano was found by a friend in the bedroom of an apartment at Earls Court Square.

A post-mortem examination established that she had suffered blunt force trauma to the head, and a murder investigation was launched.

Detectives established that Duque-Tunjano, hooked up with Fraser, and arrangements were made for sexual services. His arrival was witnessed by another sex worker, who left shortly afterwards.

Surveillance video captured Fraser leaving the property, and it is believed that he killed Duque-Tunjano.

Fraser struck Duque-Tunjano in the head and ransacked her bag, stealing cash and her mobile phone. His DNA was found at the scene.
