A teenager in Kansas, was arrested from stabbing a man to death.
Police said that 32-year-old Steven Manuel of Wichita, who is a registered sex offender, was murdered.
A neighbor who called the police, said that Manuel came to his home about 11:30 p.m., and was bleeding heavily.
Jim Ormerod said that the victim showed up to his home with a 16-year-old boy, who was later identified as the killer.
Ormerod said that Manual collapsed on his porch in a pool of blood while the teen asked him to call police.
Manuel was taken to the Via Christi Hospital in Saint Francis, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Ormerod told police that the 16-year-old boy had no shirt and Manuel was in his underwear. He said that the teen looked scared, but he stayed with the victim and did not attempt to run.
Police arrested the 16-year-old boy for murder.
Ormerod’s wife reportedly told police that the teen claimed that the victim attempted to rape him before stabbing him.
Prison records show that Manuel has been on the KBI sex offender registry since 2011, for sexual exploitation of children under the age of 16.
He was sentenced to 36 months of probation following completion of a residential treatment program. He was also ordered to have no unsupervised contact with children under the age of 16, and no access to the Internet unless it was for employment.
Police said that Manuel and the teen who was arrested in his death, knew each other.
