(Scroll down for video) A father was scared for the safety of his young son after an elderly man took a liking to his child.
The 73-year-old man of Pennsylvania, is accused of stalking the boy for two years.
The elderly rapist was finally arrested after leaving love notes for the 13-year-old boy. Police said that Clyde Ruppel, wrote love letters to the young boy and even moved to a new home to be closer to the victim.
The boy was only 11 years old when Ruppel began stalking him by leaving notes complete with rose petals. The man then placed the notes on the windshield of the car belonging to the child’s father.
Ruppel watched the boy ride his scooter, play near his home and followed the child to school by driving slowly behind him. He later moved to Allentown, to be closer to
the boy’s house, police said.
The father finally contacted the police and Ruppel was arrested. Ruppel, who is a registered sex offender, was first ordered to register as a sex offender in 1976, for a conviction of indecent assault.
When police searched the apartment of Ruppel, they discovered a marijuana growing operation. Ruppel is behind bars as he is unable to post his $35,000 bail.
