(Scroll down for video) Police are looking to arrest several gang members on charges of murder after the burning death of a children’s hospital doctor, police in Nigeria said.

The Ondo State Police Department said that Dr. David Akintayo Oguntuase, who was the chief of pediatrics at the Federal Medical Centre, was found dead in his clinic in Akure.

According to the police investigation, the doctor’s clinic was destroyed by a suspicious fire on Wednesday, and they suspect that he was targeted by paid assassins.

The Universal Medical Clinic was set on fire around midnight on Wednesday, police said. Firefighters who arrived at the scene, worked for several hours to extinguish the fire.

After the fire was out, the burned body of Dr. Oguntuase was found. Two weeks ago, Dr. Oguntuase was arrested after being accused by a colleague of plotting to kill him.

Police are currently searching for the suspects, but so far, no arrests have been made. Police are urging the public to come forward with information about the incident.
