A woman was arrested on charges of filing false police reports after allegedly filing 28 false claims of child abuse, police in Florida said.
Bonifay Police said that they arrested 38-year-old Jessica Elizabeth Combee, for filing 28 fraudulent child abuse claims against two households.
During questioning, Combee told police that she made the fraudulent claims to create chaos.
According to the police investigation, Combee began making the false claims by calling the Department of Children and Families, multiple times per day to report child abuse.
Police began investigating the false reports after the allegations were found to be false by child abuse investigators.
The Department of Children and Families provided details to investigators, which allowed them to acquire subpoenas for records from Internet service providers.
Investigators were able to determine that the false reports were filed by Combee. Combee was booked into the Holmes County Jail.
Her bail was set at $28,000.
