A taxi driver managed to drive for 2 hours with a knife in his head before checking himself into a hospital, doctors in Brazil said.

Luckily for 39-year-old Juacelo Nunes, the 11-inch long blade narrowly missed his left eye.

The knife went through his skull to his mouth and lodged into the right side of the jaw. Nunes checked himself into a hospital in Teresina, where he is recovering from his wounds.

A spokesperson for the hospital said that the knife passed through nerves and veins, and should have killed him. The knife was removed and was handed over to police, who are investigating the attack, which took place at a party.

Nunes also suffered stab wounds in the throat, shoulders and chest. He was stabbed during an argument at a party in Agua Branca.

Nunes’ wife said that she was surprised to see her husband with the knife in his skull. She said that it is a miracle that he is still alive.

So far, no arrests have been made, police said.
